Marilyn Cooper, Cpe Wines Expert, co-founder of the Soweto Wines Celebration and MD of the Cpe Wines School, said she was very energized to be in relationship with Ngcawuzele and Mbalo because they were dedicated to transforming the occurrence into a frequent Cpe City function, including that they had already had an excellent reaction from wine plants.

Mbalo says the objective of the festival is to generate awareness amongst the broader population in the Western Cape with a view to expanding the wine base for wineries; to enhance Guguletu as a tourist destination; and to generate awareness of the wine brands, consumption and availability of wine products among black people in the Western Cape.
The festival also aims to attract different racial groups, including business people, to view Guguletu as a tourist hub and business-friendly destination; and to provide a favourable surroundings to the wineries and sponsors that require to position their brands within Cape Town's black middle class.

Festival co-founder Ngcawuzele is the operator of the effective eating place Mzoli's Place in Guguletu, and a residence creator behind the Guguletu Rectangle Purchasing mall.
